The Spiritual ChicksSM Speak Out!
Why are we here?

If there's only One Life and we're all part of it, why we are having this experience as individuals who have to deal with the ups and downs of daily life? If Nature is all present, all powerful, and all knowing, why does it take the form of stock brokers and dentists, or homeless people and homemakers, each of whom represents only part of the great picture of life? To put it bluntly, why are we here?

We are here because it is possible to be here. Think about a seed. Within a seed is tremendous power and potential. From that one little spec comes roots, stems, leaves, fruits, and flowers. What's even more amazing is that the roots know to shoot down, the stem knows to reach up, and the flowers know when to bear fruit. No one says, "The seed contains everything, so why bother with the plant?" Potential is only part of the game, expression is the other key component.

In the pursuit of our "higher" selves, sometimes day to day life is relegated to a "lower" status---some may even say it's an illusion altogether. But this can be kind of misleading. Everyday life is not so much an illusion as it is an effect, and the key to managing it effectively is to deal with the root cause, the energy behind it---the seed. Our daily existence may not be the "be all and end all" of the universe, but that doesn't mean that it is meaningless either. It is a medium of expression for the true power that animates us all and it is fascinating in all of its pain, joy, glory and destruction.

So take a moment each day to consciously decide what you want to express, then plant the seeds and watch them grow. Why? Because we can. That's why we're here.
