We’ve
said it many times before (mostly because we need to keep reminding
ourselves), our world responds to---is created by---our thoughts and
concepts. But often this cause
and effect relationship is hard to see because what we say we want
doesn’t always come to be. What
are we supposed to do then---just chalk it up to some larger plan that
we’re not conscious of? You
know the expression, "When one door closes, another opens?"
Well, sometimes this is the case, but usually our desires don’t
manifest simply because we give life mixed signals.
Say you want to take a trip to Italy.
Great idea. But instead
of getting the guidebook and looking for the best airfare, you start to
think about everything that could go wrong.
"What if no one wants to go with me?
I’ll never get two weeks off from work.
How will I get by without speaking the language?
It’s too expensive." Before
you know it, the idea of your trip, which originally resonated with the
clarity of a pure tone, is now cluttered with other conflicting ideas that
transform your message into static.
Cause and effect operates all the same, however, and life gives you
what you requested---confusion and plans that fall apart.
So before you give up on the notion that we are the creators of our
own universe for lack of positive evidence, consider that you may be more
powerful than you realize. Perhaps
the universe is doing exactly what it’s told, and you may be the one
who’s giving life mixed signals.
